Cranberry Curd Tart Was A Scucess

I promise I will not do one of the LONG drawn out blog posts for this one, I don't have a big story or detailed family history of this Pie or Tart, BUT I love to bake and I thought that this would be the PERFECT Thanksgiving or Christmas Tart to serve to your family. First things first we gotta start with a kick butt pie pan, Tiny Dictator got this for me for my birthday this year.

Maddox was tired and worn when he stepped off the ship into the water. He pulled the ship to shore with his fellow soldiers but his mind was not on the task. He was already several miles down the road in his head, almost home. The call to battle could not have come at a worse time, when he left his farm in Epidaurus 4 months ago life had just become good. The call to war had come on the night of his wedding. He had just wedded Alethia the daughter of a neighboring landowner. They had known each other since she was born, and he had been promised to her since. He was desperate to get home and see his wife and enjoy the rest of their time together.

An old woman walked by and dropped the basket she was holding, Madoxx bent down and gathered her items and handed the basket back to her. “Be careful Grandmother, not everyone in the port is kind and well-meaning” The old woman looked at him with cloudy eyes, “Thank you, A word from the old, not everything is as it seems. Be Safe Soldier” she took the basket and headed back in the direction from which she came. Maddox shook his head, and then brushed the incident from his mind; He would be home with Alethia tonight, His mother still lived in the farm and he had missed his family dearly.

As Maddox’s horse finally crossed onto his lands, he smiled to see his brother’s children running around laughing and smiling. One day he hoped to have a large family just as they did. He vaulted down from his horse and rushed inside calling for his mother and Alethia. He saw his mother first, she seemed older and more frail, but h rushed to hug her. “Mother I missed you but the Gods brought me home safe to you.” She looked at him but did not respond; Alethia came out next; She smiled brightly and threw herself into his arms, Maddox was shocked at how much heavier she felt in his arms after the brief 4 months, it was not until he set her down and noticed that she had gained a large stomach. “Alethia what happened?” She looked at him abashed “I do not know what came over me, husband.I was in the field gathering roses with your mother when all the sudden there was a man, and husband he bid me to lay with him and although I did not wish to I did. He told me if ever I needed him in the future to call on Zeus and he would assist.”

Maddox saw red. “Alethia, I swear I will avenge you. I will not rest until I’ve punched Zeus in the face.” With that vow, MAddox gathered his items turned, and left his home, He would not return until he had completed his mission.

Dear People Who Don't Know What to Say To a Pregnant Girl,

Please do not comment on my weight, it isn't nice, it isn't helpful and it stresses me out.
Do not comment on what I am eating, I cannot keep ANYTHING down right now so If I am eating pickles and chips, I know I will be tossing those cookies in the next 30 min or so, let me enjoy my pickles and chips!
PLEASE dear God PLEASE do not tell me about all of the things that could go wrong? This is my first baby, I am paranoid enough and WebMD is not, nor ever has been my friend, but it is currently my most recommended webpage because of this reason. I am the type of person who will freak out because I am TERRIFIED of something happening to the baby and your horror stories are not helping even a little!
The same goes for your scary birthing stories. Its a little late for me to not have the baby and its going to be born at some point, so your scary stories are not helping me at all.
The only person who can blame my hormones at this point in my pregnancy is me, do not blame them when I am upset, If I think that is why, I will blame them.

Morning Sickness Sucks

So I have learned something about being Pregnant.... Morning sickness SUCKS! And it's not just the morning, oh no, I am sick 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I just want to curl up and die. So far, I am existing on Green tea, Sprite and ginger ale.

Any Mama's with any advice??

My Little Me & The Start Of #FitWithJacq

So as my last post showed I have some big news! I am going to have a little me!! I don't know if it will be a boy or girl yet, I'm just praying for a healthy baby. 

I am also going to be trying really hard to get back into being more healthy, because with a Baby on the way I need to stay as healthy as possible!
I'll be starting a weekly series on this blog called #FitWithJacq and hopefully by the time the baby is born we are both healthy and happy!

Big Changes!!!

I am debating on posting this,but I think I am going to.

I am going to be a Mommy!! As of today I am 4 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I am excited and can't wait to see where this part of my life leads!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

So in light of my new outlook in life, I wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! I am not doing the big dinner thing this year which is strange for me, but all my family is in another state, all my friends too, plus we still haven't fixed our stove, I am hoping to be off work tomorrow and Friday and I will spend the days trying to clean the house, get everything ready to start the new year right. I am going to try to tackle a lot this year and I am hoping I don't loose momentum! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with all your friends and family!

A New Start to a New Me

I posted a little bit ago about what I would do,  What story I want my life to tell, and I have realized that one of the things I really want to have in that story is to be healthy. I have PCOS, and am Overweight, I am a caffeine junkie, and a sugar addict and I am just not an all around healthy person. I want to fix that. I want to be at a healthy weight so that I can eventually have a baby, I want energy and not to be sleepy all the time, I want to feel more like me and less like a zombie who needs coke a cola to function on daily tasks.
I am going to start a weekly series on this blog to chronicle my journey, I just want to figure out a way to make me more me.

What Kind Of Story Do I Want My Life To Tell? What Would I Do If I Was Not Afraid?

I am a musical junkie, I breathe Broadway, and I need music in my soul. I have been listening to Hamilton like almost all of the world today, I even told my husband it reminded me of this generation's 1776. But It has me thinking, What story do I want my life to tell? I know that eventually I will have my story told, hopefully by my kids, I also know that as of right now, my story isn't much.

I want to make sure that I start trying to live with out the fear. I know my health is not great and I need to work on it. I have spent the first 30 years of my life being scared, being afraid, being quiet and good and invisible. Being someone who isn't a character, but is a background and I can't live like that any more. I am not going to quit my job and live in a van, or travel the country, but I am going to make each day a little more braver. I am going to try to update the blog more, speak my mind more, live more and be a little more me, a little less what everyone wants me to be.

I am going to start trying to work on my health, I am going to make a new 101 in 1001, I am going to make my life a story I want told...

A Long Awaited Book Review

Hey guys, I know I've been gone for a while, but I am back now and plan to update at least 2 times a week from now on!  My first post is a book review or 2!

Campbell's Redemption: A Highland Pride Novel Written by Sharon Cullen,  This book was really good, it had a lot of accurate history and I really did like Cait, I was not as impressed with the hero at the start of the book, but he did grow on me. I think that this one is really a good book if you are in the mood for a little historical romance!

PIRATE HEIRESS: A Historical, Pirate Romance Saga with Mystery, Intrigue, and a Quest for Hidden Treasure (A Pirates & Petticoats Novel Book 4) By Chloe Flowers is also a good historical read. It is a stand alone book, but is connected with her series and I really liked that even though it is connected with the Pirates and Petticoates books you didn't have to have read the other books in the series to be connected to the story! Stevie really pulled me in, I wanted to know why she was stealing the ship, I wanted to know more about Captain Colan. Well written, steady paced with high sea adventure, mystery, suspense, intrigue, pirates, privateers, a quest for a hidden treasure and romance. There are many twists and turns in this story, to be sure, some are totally unexpected.

Christmas Joy: A Novel by Nancy Naigle is a wonderful contemporary romance. I felt like this one had a kind of Christmas Carol vibe to it, with out being straight Dickens. Joy while sweet, is very into her work, no time for fun, or to relax or the holidays, Ben is a steadfast country boy not even slightly impressed by Joy's big city ways. I really enjoyed coming to know each character and wanting them to have a happy Christmas!

Long Time No See

Are any of you still out there? It has been a long time for me, since I posted last. I am planning on trying to start this blog up again, I just haven't had much happen in my life since the last posts I had.

My Wedding Part 1!!!!

I cannot believe I am finally married! Kensei and I have been dating since I was 14...I am 29 almost 30 now!! That is 16 years! 
We planned our wedding in under a year and our maximum budget from my father was 4,000 including the location, food, drink, dress and everything! 
I had an AMAZING location for the ceremony and the reception, I will be posting on each of those! I wanted to start from the beginning. we got all of our invitations, save the dates, hotel cards and registry cards from 123print.com I LOVED the quality and they looked really amazing and high end!! 
Our Wedding Invitation was designed by one of my friends and favorite bloggers Karen from Well Read Pirate Queen!! 
She took all of our geeky loves and put them into a single place! 

I swear this was completely us and helped us set our geek theme for the entire wedding! 
Our RSVP Cards came from Designs By Kepi and I LOVED THEM!!! 

I cannot wait to show you guys the rest of the wedding things!!! 

My Life!

A whole lot has changed since I last posted! I am MARRIED now!!! Holy heck it took forever was filled with panic and fun but I am officially Mrs Kensei now!

I will be posting about the wedding and the photographs as soon as I have time to process it.

I am also planning on starting a Fitness Friday series and would love for you guys to join in! I am planning on really trying to work all the extra weight off because we want to honeymoon this summer at  the beach, plus with my PCOS having a child at my current weight is not really a possibility and I really really want the kids!

Allergies and Life!

I have been spending my time trying to finish everything for the wedding, I cannot believe that I am getting married in 1 month!! Time is FLYING by so fast!!

My allergies have been kicking my booty lately. I need to look into getting allergy shots!

Wedding planning is a pain!

Where have I been?? I am swamped with the dealing of Wedding things, a new pup and school and work, I have been just exhausted.

I FINALLY got my invites in the mail! I am SO FREAKING proud of them!!!

I LOVE the geek/nerd theme we have going, now I just need to get my dress, figure out food/drinks/music and all before the wedding! 

Anyone want to help me plan??
