So because of the face I have a lot of hair, and it is long, and it is my FAVORITE feature, I try to take good care of my hair.
This is my current Hair Care Routine:
First Off I KNOW some people are going to be all EWWW about this, but I only wash my hair (with shampoo) every 3 or 4 days. Yes I shower daily, but my hair only gets washed every 3 or 4 days. In between washes, at night, I use dry shampoo, I will spray the dry shampoo all over my roots and massage it in and then sleep with my hair in a bun (I ALWAYS do this) on top of my head, so when I wake up there is no white residue. The 2 dry shampoos I am loving right now are
Fekkai Hair Refresher


and the Herbal Essence's Naked Dry Shampoo

Both have REALLY Nice scents and work well too keep my hair from being greasy
When I do Shampoo I use The Neutrogena TGell (or the Walgreen's Brand)
This is a dandruff shampoo and works REALLY well as a deep cleansing shampoo as well.
Because I use such a harsh shampoo when I wash my hair I follow it up with a deep mask, I have been LOVING InstaNatural’s Argan Oil Mask, They sent me a free tub of it to review and it makes my hair so soft and shiny that I’ve already ordered another tub!

This one is a white mask and it smells amazing, citrusy and woodsy and just yummy! Plus it makes my hair so soft!!

After the shower I towel dry my hair and I HAVE to blow dry it, I honestly can’t take wet hair, and air drying my hair will literally take at least a day.
but before I blow dry I put in (in this order) Moroccan Oil, Style Extender, Soy Leave In Conditioner, and Heat Protectant.
Then I dry my hair and style!

That’s all of my routine, except one thing, after 3 or 4 days the night before I will coat my hair in the Insta Natural Argan Oil, or Coconut oil and then in the morning shampoo it out!

ELF Disney Snow White Beauty Book

 

I am a sucker for anything Disney related so when ELF, Ardell, Sunci, and Conair started these Disney Princess Collections I was ALL OVER THEM!!! They can be found at select Walgreens or Drugstore.com.

If you guys want I can do swatches from the Ariel Beauty Book as well!!!

The beauty book is made of cardboard and is very cutely designed!!

The mirror is pretty worthless (reminds me of the shiny foil mirrors in baby books) BUT under the mirror are looks to do with the shadows/items in the books!!

This one comes with 7 eye shadows, an eye primer, liner and a peachy blush. With a reddish lip-gloss!

On to the swatches!!

The first three are the largest shadows and are very sparkly, I personally love I’m wishing and Diamond Mine wet rather than dry.

My Big disappointment with this book was My Prince, it looks like an amazing Matte navy blue in pan but it is VERY sheer!!

Keep Singing is a pretty Peach blush with golden sparkles!

 

So what do you think? I think for the price (each book is 9.99 or cheaper if you get it on sale) They are definitely worth the price!!!

Beauty Box 5

I was given the chance to receive and review a new beauty sample box this month. I do want to let ya’ll know right off the bat that I did receive the box for free, but the review and opinions are my own.  Beauty Box 5 is a monthly subscription box that costs $12 dollars filled with 4-5 beauty samples.  Directly from their website:
“Beauty Box 5 scours the market to find the best product for your lifestyle.
Each month you will get a box filled with cosmetic products selected by our beauty editor. You’ll receive a mixture of luxury, commonly known brands, niche brands, eco-conscious and even vegan brands. Your beauty box will include a selection of makeup, hair care, skin care, nail care, fragrances and beauty accessories.”
I do like that they have luxury, as well as eco, vegan and popular brands. So what did I get?

It comes in a pretty sky blue box:


Everything in the box including something I was NOT happy to get.

I absolutely despise getting boxes with these paper crinkles in them. They are pointless, messy and wasteful to me, particularly for a company that says they are eco-friendly… these do not scream eco-conscious to me . BUT as they aren’t actually a part of the box lets move on!


I got a tiny little card telling me about the site, but nothing about the products. I don’t know if that is because I got a free box, or if all the boxes come with just the little card.


I got a Model Co lip-enhancer Illusion Lip-liner, which was a full size and retails for $20.00 on the Model Co website. It only comes in one color which is a kind of brown color that is supposed to make your lips look bigger.



I got 5ml tube of Bodyography Foundation primer, I am not sure if it is the same thing because on their website the only primer that Bodyography offers is their Veil Primer, but that full bottle is 1 oz and retails for 30.00



This was another full sized product these Oil absorbing sheets from Jean Pierre Cosmetics seem to work pretty well and at $1.99 from Drugstore.com they are a pretty good price.

I have gotten this sample before in Birchboxs and I really like it. Blinc Mascara creates little tubes around your lashes so they don’t flake or smudge.


This is a mineral eye shadow sample that I got in the box. It is from a company called Brazen Cosmetics, and looks like it would be a nice crease color, or even a contour color. The shade is called Birthday Suit and it is a matte brown color. The sample didn’t come with a sifter, which was a little problematic because I dumped it on me, and when I went to the company’s website they don’t have the color listed as one that they sell, so I don’t know if it is a special sample for Beauty Box 5 or if it will be released later.

So for value Beauty Box 5 isn’t bad, $12 a month $30 every quarter or $100 for the year, and this box’s full sized products totaled $21.99
It seems like it is a really good deal.

I bought a playboy bed canopy.  and Sadly I’ve never used it, it is still in it’s original packaging (similar to this!)

Writer’s Workshop: Top Ten and Then Some…

Okay guys I want to apologize for that very depressing RTT and move on to Mama Kat’s Workshop: Also I have my new laptop so I am writing this in Windows Live writer and not sure how the formatting will come out so if it is funky let me know okay?

When I look in the mirror...

I don’t like what I see… I have a lot of things I want to change about myself and a lot of insecurities, I have hung out with the pretty people all my life, in fact i even do so through their blogs, but i have never considered myself to be one of them.

my grandmother on my fathers side has been comparing me to my cousin from my birth. apparently until around age 8 we were identical, then she stopped eating and i didn’t, she went on to model, and sing and was in a band, and now she is a stewardess on a plane.

I have heard you used to look so alike what happened more times than i can count and it has done a number on me.

I think what i want when i look in the mirror is to be happy with myself, at least a little, because then i will be able to start work on some of my other issues.

Strange....

Well there are some things that you just find odd...

I was sleeping between Class and work this afternoon and M called and asked me if she could possibly use my head in her speech. I have to admit it woke me up enough to be all wha? We have a Speech class together and they want us to do demonstrative speeches. Now M doesn't leave the house looking less than perfect where as I show up in work clothes that I have been wearing all night long and are sleep rumpled from my backseat most of the time. I also have thick wavy/curly hair, M has been dying to straighten my hair from the day we met three years ago. I haven't let her yet. So she wants to do it during her speech. I am considering...

I was thinking about my speech today to since I am on that topic. I don't really do anything well and I doubt the professor will let me give a how to stalk... I mean follow people's blogs online speech. My dad says "cook something, your good at that" so I was thinking about making little Bento's for my class, I mean I do it for my sister why not them? I have started making jujubes Bento's for her everyday and leaving them for dad to pick up on his way to taking her to school. I do love the site Cooking Cute. In fact I sent Kensei the link the other day. I fear that my obsession may have been rubbing off on him a little.

Speaking of Kensei, we had the oddest conversation today. My friend Anna just got married. (getting slightly annoyed with all of my friends getting married and having kids while I just sit in limbo waiting... okay I am over it!) to a really great guy. He's got a great personality, and he's cute too. He also has 2 15, and 2 14 year old daughters (two sets of twins) but that's not the strange part. Anna is 20... I mentioned to Kensei that I thought it was a little strange that when Chris and his wife divorced he married a girl who was only 5 years older than his daughters, and Kensei's response was "why? I might i mean as long as the daughters were younger than the wife no problem" guy's don't understand how vicious we females can be. We are evil when we want to be!

And on the topic of evil why do we as a gender do such painful things to look good? I went with M to get her underarms and legs waxed... I hurt just watching! Why do we do this?? Have we lost our minds???

Back on losing out minds, I think I've lost mine! It is supposed to be a delightful 15 degrees in the morning and I am planning on sleeping in my car for at least 3 hours. I will most likely be frozen when and if I wake up.

I am slightly amazed how most of these had someway to connect with the topic before or after... huh. Anyways have a good one!!
