In Winter It’s A Marsh mellow World.

Christmas is one of my ABSOLUTE favorite times of year, I love everything from the music playing endlessly in the malls to the chill in the air when I leave work at 11pm, to the childish hope that maybe there will be snow when I look out my window in the morning.

But I wish sometimes I lived in the movies, the clothes the fact that everyone believes and is happy, I am a sappy romantic

well that and the fact that they all have killer clothes!

SO today’s post is actually going to be a littler longer than my posts have been normally.

So I would Normally be participating in MJ’s Friday Confessions but her blog has mysteriously vanished, and so I am skipping Confession this week although I might do it again next week.

I was also reading Blogs and I realized that something was happening that happened at this time last semester: During Exams I am not going to post as much apparently. It seems not only does nothing interesting happen to me, but I just get really out of it too. Hopefully It will take me less time to get back into the swing of things!

SO if you want a laugh swing by this post about the Spanish Inquisition and enjoy the madness that is my brain!

Just Remember No One Expects The Spanish Inquisition!!

Now I know it is a day late but I want to add my Two Cents to Mama Kat's Writer’s Workshop
2.) List 5 must have gifts you are purchasing for a loved one this Christmas.
3.) Open letter to Santa Claus.
4.) Describe how you would celebrate the holidays if it was totally up to you and money was not a factor.
5.) Book review time! What winter read has you snuggled in and turning pages?

2.) Airforce is getting TSO’s new Album Nightcastle.

Jujube is getting various Video Games to play on her new laptop that I gave her.

I have no clue what I am getting for my Parents

Kensei is getting Call Of Duty 4 and Halo 3 even though he probably already has them

Eri is getting the Cups we bought a Sakura together and she knows so I can write this here.

Amber will be getting random books most likely.

And everyone that wants one will be getting a Christmas Card, If you want one, either leave you email that I can contact you on, or you address because my comments must be approved I will not post any with address or people who request not to have their email’s shown.

3.)

Dear Santa:

While I would like to start this off with the general world peace and everyone to be happy and healthy I know that is not in your area so (Big guy if you are reading this over Santa’s shoulder that first bits for you)

What I want is actually very simple:

Bookshelves that I can move- I will be moving AGAIN soon and I want shelves to take with me please.

Car?? I know that one is a bit expensive but if you could drop one off in the parking lot I would be extremely pleased.

To keep in touch with all of my friends even after the move because I will miss them all entirely too much.

Love

Angel

4 and 5 will be answered in separate posts at a later date because well they will take a while!

Have a Wonderful Weekend!!!

Writer’s Workshop

Hi! It has been a while since the last time I participated in Mama Kat’s Writer’s workshop, so this week the ever curious Mama Kat wants to know::

10 reasons why you can't sleep at night

why I can’t sleep…. hmmm

lets do this Late Night Style and reverse order it:

10: on night's like tonight I am at work

9: because I am currently sleeping on a mattress on the floor… not to comfortable

8: because the train comes at 12, 2, and 4 every night and my window thinks it’s open

7. because I obsess over everything

6: If I don’t watch the Infomercials who will?

5:I have to wait for Kensei to get tired

4: sleeping is highly overrated

3: practicing for when I have a kid

2: Christmas is coming and I have to move so I am wondering where the money will miraculously appear from

and the number one reason I can’t sleep at night is…

1: I ran out of Lavender Fabreeze and so I now realize that my room doesn’t smell to great… nor do I have the relaxing sent of lavender to calm me.

Head on over to Mama Kat’s and see who else can’t sleep, along with her other wonderful prompts!

Writer’s Workshop: Top Ten and Then Some…

Okay guys I want to apologize for that very depressing RTT and move on to Mama Kat’s Workshop: Also I have my new laptop so I am writing this in Windows Live writer and not sure how the formatting will come out so if it is funky let me know okay?

I took two prompts today, The top ten things I would rather be doing that David Letterman are as follows:

10. Laundry

9. cleaning the house from top to bottom, as if my grandmother was arriving any moment

8. worrying about Kensei being sick and Piper who has just discovered she is allergic to gluten and dairy. (for those gluten free families any recommendations for good recipe sites?)

7. looking into the mirror

6. writing the eight papers i have been pushing off

5. being dragged up in front of random people to sing

4. three of those people being the judges from American Idol

3. going to the hospital

2. go back under the surgeons knife

and the number one thing I would rather do than have sex with David letterman?

having a non-anesthetized root canal

When I look in the mirror...

I don’t like what I see… I have a lot of things I want to change about myself and a lot of insecurities, I have hung out with the pretty people all my life, in fact i even do so through their blogs, but i have never considered myself to be one of them.

my grandmother on my fathers side has been comparing me to my cousin from my birth. apparently until around age 8 we were identical, then she stopped eating and i didn’t, she went on to model, and sing and was in a band, and now she is a stewardess on a plane.

I have heard you used to look so alike what happened more times than i can count and it has done a number on me.

I think what i want when i look in the mirror is to be happy with myself, at least a little, because then i will be able to start work on some of my other issues.

Writer's Workshop: The Superhero edition!

Make sure you go to Mama Kat's and read all of the other awesome responses.

1.) If I could travel anywhere in the world I would go to Italy and Japan, mainly because I want to meet my relatives still in Italy and well Japan rocks.

4.) If I was a superhero It would be a problem because well I like a lot of powers. I definitely want to talk to animals, and be able to communicate telepathically. Plus well flying is great but I have always been a water girl so being able to breathe underwater and swim really fast.

I really want a killer costume too, I am thinking (if I had the body) I would totally take one of the Charmed outfits,

I love all these outfits but if Piper's silver one where a Different color I would definitely wear that one but other than that Pheobe's and Paige's would be perfect for me!

Oh! And weather control! I want that too!

I also love these outfits too!

Writer's Workshop: Paranoid? Who's paranoid??

It's time for the wonderful, the amazing, the beautiful, generous, all around perfect Mama Kat's writer's workshop.

Before I get into the prompts I wanted to let you all know that Piper and I have made our first post on Because I said So.. So if you are feeling a little wanderlust wander on over there and read all about how we rock and horror movies that try to kill me.

Okay now that that is out of the way I was reading Mama Kat's prompts and well they were a little too serious for me this week, all of my posts lately have been a serious twist and I need a little funny. So I am writing three of them:

2.) When I grow up I want to be like...

This was a little hard for me because I am not sure who I want to be when I grow up. I am not even sure WHAT I want to be when I grow up

I know that I want to be feisty and fiery like Catherine Zeta Jones in Zorro's one and two.

I also never want to lose my romantic side. I want to always believe in love like Meg Ryan in Sleepless in Seattle, I want to be willing to give up everything like Kate and Leopold and French Kiss and I want to keep my sense of humor and love of books like You've Got Mail.

There are so many characteristics that I want but am not sure of yet. This I will revisit later

4.) List 5 things you like to do while camping...or 5 places you'd like to go.
I don't really do the outdoors so here are five places I want to go! In pictures none the less:

I want to go to Scotland:
Particularly The highlands I have read so much about them that I really want to just visit if only once.
I also want to go to Japan, this would be mostly for shopping I love everything Japanese and going there would be a dream come true.
I also would love to go to Venice The city of magic and water. I love Italy, Sicily and Greece because my Nana was born there I want to visit more than anything.
Rome for the same reason as Venice my Papa was born there
And I want to go back to NYC I love the city and I miss it. I lived there for a while and well I am I not sure I'd live there again I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to visit.

This is turning out to be a rather picture heavy post...

The next prompt.

What Am I Paranoid About??

Everything!! I am one of those obsessive people who worry themselves into early graves. I am Paranoid about anything happening to Jujube, I make her call me all the time.
I am Paranoid about classes I tend to psych myself out before tests.
I am Paranoid about all sorts of things. While I am optimistic by nature I am also the girl who will jump right to the worst possible conclusions. I didn't hear from Prue for a week once after she made an odd comment to me, She had told me that she wouldn't be home for a while. I didn't hear from her for a week by the time she called I was picturing her and my niece in a car accident with twisted metal and bloody bodies. There was one time where Jujube wasn't home and I went right to someone had kidnapped her. I like to be sunny but with everything out there I do jump right to the bad I am sad to admit.

Okay one last thing and I will let you go, Poor Jujube had a problem last night she was bending down to hang up a towel and slammed her head onto the door hinge, there is a slightly deep halfmoon in her forehead now. I am not sure what to make of it. Also I am slightly annoyed with Herbal Essences right now. With my Paranoid worrying I get a lot of grey hair so I have been coloring my hair from the end of high school. I wanted to go natural and bought two boxes of ASH BROWN and when I finished my hair was JET BLACK!!!! I must have picked the only two boxes of black masquerading as brown. It doesn't look to bad but it is a shock. I will get Piper to post a picture later.

Poor Jujube's head after the band-aid went on. Don't you just feel sorry for her?

Books, and Blogs and Money Oh My!

I love Thursdays! Make sure you visit Mama Kat's for more creativeness!

1.) Grab your current read. Let the book fall open to a random page and share two “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
(inspired by Heather)

This was a little hard because I am in the middle of about six books right now, but Here is one of them

Night's Pleasure
Amanda Ashley

"he had an almost overpowering urge to release the beast within him. It would be so easy. He could take them all before they realized what was happening..."

4.)Tell us about your blogline...how long have you been blogging, when did you start, what were/are your goals for your blog, etc.
(inspired by Corn)

Well I haven't been blogging long. I just started this January. Originally this was going to be a kind of diary, but then I discovered all the amazing people in blogland and have been having fun reading their fantablous lives and realized mine was kind of dull. I guess I want to become more confident in what I am writing and putting out there. I am sure things are more interesting to others than they seem to me. I also love the chance to add the creative part of me. So hopefully I will write more and have a lot more fun on this blog.

Writer's Workshop

3.) What have you been busy doing that's keeping you from updating your blog? How hard is it for you to get back into the swing of blogging when you take time off?

I have been working and sick. Plus with school out there is really nothing interesting to talk about. The most interesting things the happen usually happen when I am not working so I feel as if I don't have a good enough account to pass on.

I have realized that I am generally a pretty boring person. It takes me quite a while to get back into the swing of things.

For example In

January I posted 22 times.

February 26

March 30

April 8

May 9

June (so far) 2

Seriously really bad! I am so sorry to the people who read and I promise to try to be a little more interesting!

On a Side note I will be driving with Piper to MI to see her husband graduate AIT. Along the way we will stop in TN to see Kensei. If anyone knows a really good cleanse and or weight loss and exercise program PLEASE PLEASE pass it along in the comments!

Thanks!

OMG!!! I Just noticed this was my 100th post!!! YEAH!!!

writers workshop

1.) What is your life's anthem? You know...that song that is ALWAYS in your head. The one you'd go to sing first if someone told you to sing a song right NOW. What is it and what does it mean to you?
(inspired by Tattooed Minivan Mom)

I would sing "can I make it through the 80s by Julie Brown. I know it's not the 80s any more but that is one of my favorite songs. The only other song that come to mind is 'Cause I'm a blond. Both of these were joking referred to as my theme songs in high school. I can't find a video for the 80s so here's I'm a blond. Just don't watch with out a sense of humor.

(This is from one of my favorite movies.)

2.) We love telemarketers don't we!?! Describe a memorable experience you had with one.
(inspired by Literal Dan)
I almost made one cry once... I was really upset and was waiting for a friend to call, we didn't have call waiting then, and he called and wanted to talk to my parents. I couldn't get him to hang up and so I blurted out that my parents had just been in a car accident and didn't make it. I was already crying so I guess he thought I was telling the truth and tried to console me and because I was already upset and in my its all about me phase of course it didn't work. but he apologized and sounded upset when he hung up. I still feel a little bad about that time.

3.) How much does focusing on weight affect your daily life?
(inspired by Musings Of A Blond Mom)

A lot more than it should. I was actually rather active before "The Accident" which I will tell you all about later. but because of it I was laid up for over a year, not allowed off the couch. I have not gotten back up to the same activity level nor have I worked off the weight I gained while laid up.

4.) Describe in what ways you expect too much from your significant other. Do they deserve an apology?
(inspired by Carty Party Of Three)

This one unfortunately I don't see Kensei enough to go there..

5.) List ten things that make you HAPPY.
(inspired by our irritation at our own complaining from last weeks "Sick Of" posts.)

I am happy when I am:

1. reading a good book (throw in any good ones you've read recently)

2. watching a good movie

3. hanging out with my friends

4. hanging out with Kensei

5. Going dancing I love love love to dance and don't do it nearly enough

6. sleeping

7. reading blogs

8. cooking

9. baking most especially

10. with my family.

Writer's Workshop: The Me Edition

Well Mama Kat gave me a mission and I chose to accept it, although I wish she would do something about the whole this computer will self-destruct in 10 thing, the boss keeps getting mad at me!

Anyways today's prompts are all about me (at least that's how I see it;)

1.) Share a love letter.-
Well I wish i could but Kensei never has written me a letter no mater how hard I have tried to get him to.

2.) Memorial Day Weekend plans?? Do share!
This one is not so Interesting, I will be working.

3.) List ten things you are currently sick of.

Ten things I am sick of... Here we go:
10. Finding out about Awesome Shows After they have been canceled.
9. Working six out of seven days a week I want a day off...
8. Not having my car
7. I am totally sick of dealing with people who are to young to be getting hotel rooms for the
purpose they are.
6. Not having any money, I know I should be grateful to have a job and all but I even with the six
days a week I work I never seem to have any money after bills.
5. People reminding me I could have studied more in HS for a scholarship
4. Kensei getting so absorbed in his games that I can have a complete conversation by myself
3. The fact that I really want to get my hair done, but can't do it on my own.
2. The fact that the only person who can do my hair is going to charge me $200 to do it.
And the number one thing that I am sick of is:
1. the fact that I still haven't been able to start my Master Cleanse because I have heard you need at least two days of nothing to start and I haven't got to consecutive days of nothing!

4.) Put an outfit together using pictures you found online and show us what you'd LIKE to be wearing today.

What would I like to be wearing today??? Here goes!

This top because I like the style. and even though they don't necessarily match:

First off I like this skirt, I barely ever wear skirts but My ideal wardrobe would be full of them!

This coat because It goes with the top: and to top it all off:

These shoes because they are the closet to the shoes that I dream about from this book!

And because I change my outfits at least twice, one for work and one for home here goes choice number two:

The black top not the purple one with this skirt:

And these boots because I LOVE boots:
Probably the Black ones but maybe the pink.

5.) What have you been too busy to pay attention to?

I have been to busy to pay attention to a lot of things lately. My social life for one. But little things: I haven't eaten a real meal in days, I have been snacking at random intervals, and I have been to busy to actually relax.

So what about you guys did you accept Mama Kat's Mission?

Writer's Workshop: Feelings

Mama Kat's prompts this week kind of caught me by surprise but I knew when I read this one that it was what I would do:

1.) Define goodness...joy...sorrow...and anger using pictures you've taken.

Now because one of my majors is Photography, this was hard for me, also because I lost most of my favorite images when my computer burst into flames but that was another story. So on to the prompt.

Goodness, this was an especially difficult one fore me. Goodness in my mind is not easily defined so I have two images for that one.

This is a church in Charleston, I have taken so many pictures of this particular church over the years to me the deep blue and the steeple are a symbol of the goodness that comes from the world around you. This is always going to be there as a reminder that there is good in the world, and good people who believe.

This was taken at a pier in Charleston as well. the good in nature where everything comes from. The beauty and purity that comes in nature is also only found in babies and not for long either.

Then there was Joy.

Joy to me is an emotion that one can see, so the picture I took was from M's Wedding

This was taken after the wedding took place. M decided that she didn't get enough pictures of the actually ceremony so so ordered everyone back up so that she could stage the pictures, then freaked because people brought drinks, and we had to do it all over again.
this is joy for me, everyone was laughing and grinning and having fun.

Sorrow and Anger are next these are linked to me, When you have sorrow, you tend to get angry, or at least I do, and when I am angry then it is followed by sorrow. So These are all connected to me

M was very sad one day and that's where this came from

This is another church in Charleston, I think it represents anger and sorrow because it is one of the very few there that they have let become overgrown and stopped caring for it, There is graffiti on the lower walls and the graveyard has been vandalized and it makes me both angry and sad that people would treat others in this way.

This is a Jail in Charleston. It is also very neglected and graffiti all over it. But It is also a sad site because it could have been a powerful piece of architecture.

This is what happened to my car.
It is also what I mean by the two emotions are linked in my mind. Tori, (My Car) was taken from me because of a mistake and broken. I lost my car, and my independence. I was very angry but also couldn't stop crying because of the sorrow I felt as well.

And to end on a lighter note: I did not take this but I reminds me of the squirrel from Ice Age, anyways here is a laugh for you.

Writer's Workshop and randomness

Hello all! First things first I just wanted to say I AM Super amazingly ecstatically happy right now. I have been worring about my math grade all semester and I somehow managed to get an A. I don't know if it was because he decided to give everyone an A (Because every person I've asked so far has one) Or maybe I am just smarter than I look, but that is my happy for this week.

Now on to Mama Kat's wonderful writing prompt.

Do I want a baby?

Wow, this question opens up a can o' worms for sure. I would like nothing more than to have a child, in fact when my friends began to have them I considered knocking a few of the off because I would get the kids if something happened. (Just kidding) But I really do want a baby more than almost anything.

This topic is one of the few that Kensei and I actually will full out argue about. Kensei is very planning and doesn't want a kid, or to get married or finish his school until we can "Afford" it. While I am in debt up to my ears with student loans, still accumulating, would get married tomorrow if he asked and want to have babies as soon as possible.

One of the reasons I am so desperate to at least try is because of PCOS, I was diagnosed with it when I was sixteen. My OBGYN at the time informed me that there was nothing they could do, and that I basicly had until I was 25 to have my kids or it would be almost impossible. For a sixteen year old who always wanted to be a mom that was pretty much the worst thing they could have told me. Since then I have learned that there was a medication they could have put me on that would have slowed the progression down a little, and I am now on it, but I have a very loud biological clock ticking.

I hope to soon have at least the beginning of a family and am also completly for adoption, but that is where Kensei's we need the money first outlook will really come in.

This post is going to be shorter than normal just because I am beginng to make myself sad.

Writer's Workshop

Mama Kat has come out of her illness for a few moments to post her amazing prompts for this week! Hopefully she feels better soon!!

It took me a while to decide which one i was going to write about. But I decided that I would do is number five.

I am currently fascinated with so many things! I love watching Psych, and Anime. I have been watching a lot of TV shows from Netflix. It is a nice thing to have.

I am also Fascinated with Disney Weddings and Fairy tale weddings I want one, even though I know that i will never be able to afford it.

I also like the Twilight series but not so much the movie and I know I will get a LOT of static about this but I don't like the casting they did for Edward, I had him pictured COMPLETELY different.

Writer's Workshop!

Every Week Mama Kat gives us wonderful prompts to make us think and keep the creative juices flowing this week mine is:

3.) The one that got away....spill it.

Well, The one that go away, If I see him in my memory its kind of like he almost sparkles, (Think the Vampires in the movie Twilight only less glittery)

He had Big baby blue eyes, and sandy brown hair, and charm that almost oozed off of him. No one was really sure why he was so irresistible to us girls but he was. I met him at the Cracker Barrel, when my mother and I were night fighting we would skip church on Sunday and go for breakfast, he was the busboy. I was fourteen he was seventeen, I would turn bright red and gulp my coke down as I watched him out of the corner of my eye. He would smile and flirt a little, the little blond waitress was always angry when we came in. I asked a friend that worked there to give him my number in a bit of a panicked state once. I

never thought he would call. I wasn't (In my opinion) the cutest girl in the world. He called, I was breathless as I waited to see what he would say he asked me to the movies and dinner. My parents dropped me off. We walked next door to the Pizza hut and had pizza, and then before the movie he took me up the service hill behind the theater, It was super dark and all that was there was stars, he sat down next to me on a fallen log and gave me my first kiss under the stars. It was romantic and sweet. We saw Castaway, I jumped and hid my face through parts of the movie and he laughed. He had a country laugh, full of sunlight and strong. We had a summer romance, and after school started he just never called. So I told my friends all about him embellishing Grease Style. He was at a reform school so I didn't think I would see him again after he stopped working at the Cracker Barrel.

I was sitting in the cafeteria of my school listening to my friend Scarlett talk when all the sudden she stopped and smiled, it was her ohhh... cute boy smile. I didn't bother turning around, because when boys see Scarlett they don't see me, so I was shocked when someone covered my eyes and said "Guess who?" It was him. My first boyfriend, and my first love! I was shocked. He went to go get food, and Scarlett insisted I tell her who he was. I did, in a hushed tone and he sat with us at lunch. Later, he pulled me aside and asked if I would hook him up with her, so I did. and That's how it became I was his best friend, and hooked him up with all of my friends. Never changed. He still is like that.

That old movie theater is a funeral home now, the hill behind it demolished for construction. I asked him once why he never tried anything, or even tried to get back together with me, (I was drunk at the time, the only reason I asked) He said it was because, I was sweet, and the only best friend he ever had, he didn't want to mess that up or be the one who made me stop believing in Fairy Tales, which probably would have happened, he never could say faithful to one girl.

So now he has a baby on the way and I am engaged, but sometimes I wonder what would have happened, and what ifs, while nice can be dangerous.

Writer's Workshop!

Thanks to Mama Kat

Now This will offend some people I know but I want to point out that I love my mother and we generally have a pretty good relationship she just bothers me with somethings and this topic seemed to fit today. So here goes:

4.) Write a letter to someone who bothered you this week.

Dear Mama,

Why do you feel the need to involve me in everything? I understand that you love me and that you want my advice but there are so many things that you tell me I don't want to know. Why do you have to hurt Daddy and make our family life so much worse? Why didn't you guys just get divorced when I was four like you have told me every year from that time on that you were? I mean I am glad you didn't because if you had I wouldn't have Jujube and Air force for siblings, but wouldn't the world have been easier if you had? Why do you quit your job every four months and move to another one? I know that it is not just perhaps a midlife crisis because you have done it ever since I was a baby. And you always leave on bad terms, you quit with out notice and make yourself look bad. Why mom why? Then you "clean your law offices" in Atlanta, do you honestly think we don't know you are going to see your boyfriend? You take money to go there and never bring any back, its not right! You tell me all about the things you do with D*ck and then you make me promise to be quiet and not say anything to Daddy even if he asks. D*** is married too, why are you both tearing your families apart when you have told me you really don't love him he's just a good lay? You take the money from Daddy's account that he is using to pay the mortgage and then get mad when he asks you about it, we have moved six times in the past two years because we have lost our houses, why do you do this to our family? And I think what scares me the most is you used to talk about Papa doing this taking you to meet his girlfriends while Grandma stayed home and cried, you are doing the same thing to me. Am I going to turn out like you? I love you mom but I don't want to do the things you do, and it seems to me that they might be inherited. Am I going to wake up 20 years from now and find myself telling my daughter about my boyfried while her father and I fight? I don't want that mom. I have your eyes and your hair and your temper I don't want anything else of yours to.

Always your daughter

~Angel
