Writer’s Workshop

Hi! It has been a while since the last time I participated in Mama Kat’s Writer’s workshop, so this week the ever curious Mama Kat wants to know::

10 reasons why you can't sleep at night

why I can’t sleep…. hmmm

lets do this Late Night Style and reverse order it:

10: on night's like tonight I am at work

9: because I am currently sleeping on a mattress on the floor… not to comfortable

8: because the train comes at 12, 2, and 4 every night and my window thinks it’s open

7. because I obsess over everything

6: If I don’t watch the Infomercials who will?

5:I have to wait for Kensei to get tired

4: sleeping is highly overrated

3: practicing for when I have a kid

2: Christmas is coming and I have to move so I am wondering where the money will miraculously appear from

and the number one reason I can’t sleep at night is…

1: I ran out of Lavender Fabreeze and so I now realize that my room doesn’t smell to great… nor do I have the relaxing sent of lavender to calm me.

Head on over to Mama Kat’s and see who else can’t sleep, along with her other wonderful prompts!

Stopping by from Mama Kat's

I like the Letterman Top Ten style— it gives it more of a humorous quality.

My wife insists that I spray the sheets with a lavender sheet spray before we retire or she can't sleep either, so I know where you're coming from.

Thanks for sharing,

I'm a lavender junkie too. I buy it fresh though and burn it as incense with a little bit of sage. It's the only thing that can calm me down when I'm upset or stressed.

The infomercial problem can be ignored. They show up at all hours on cable (in fact one local channel is 80% infomercial and only a little programming). So even if you don't watch at night, someone else can watch during the day. {*grin*}

And there is even a "solution" for the mattress issue. Many moons ago I spent a month living in a house with nothing but a folding chaise lounge as I waited for the moving van to arrive. I would have killed to have a mattress on the floor then. So visit a garage sale and buy a folding chair, sleep in if for a few weeks, and the mattress on the floor will seem like heaven. {*grin*}
