Sunday Social

1. What’s your dream job?

My dream job is traveling the world taking photographs of everything and anything!!

2. If you had just won the lottery and didn’t need to work for money, what would you do with your time?

I would finish school, buy myself my dream house, and then take pictures all day long!! And have lots and lots of kids.

3. What piece of career advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?

My current field, I would tell them what my first boss told me, “your job is not to fix everything, you job is to smile, look cute, and make the guest feel like you have complete control over everything and can make their stay so pleasant they never want to leave.”

4. What would be your ideal “just for fun” job?

Traveling the world for photographs

5. What was your first “real” job?

how do we classify real? I worked at Fazolli’s and pretty much ran the store by the time I was 16, then I went to work at a bookstore, and then another restaurant and then hotels!

Blogtember Blues City Hot Dogs!

So today we are supposed to review a book, product or place, So I decided to do Blues City Hot Dogs. I found out about this place from Alyssa from Ten Feet Of Beale.

I will admit when I was headed to the Blues City Hot Dogs I was hoping for a place similar to Ted’s  Hotdogs in NY. Sadly they were not Ted’s but the were still good!!

First and foremost they  only offer 2 types of hot dogs, Nathan’s All Beef or Veggie dogs. This is a MAJOR selling point for me because I really only like all beef hotdogs. The fact that they offer Veggie Dogs and will sub a veggie dog into any of their specialty dogs is also a major plus.

They also offer free Wi-Fi!!

Blues City Hot Dogs, Memphis // Ten Feet Off Beale http://www.tenfeetoffbeale.com

This is their wall, when you order you can sign the wall and leave a note. I think this is a super cute idea!

I went and got their All American Dog, which is a chili cheese dog, it was super yummy! 20130921_134056

They have canned soda and water bottles for drinks, and everything is really reasonably priced. 20130921_134104

Look at that chili dog!!! The only thing I wasn’t super pleased with was the “Seasoned” pickle. I’d just rather have a regular pickle…

so if you are ever in Memphis take a second and stop by the Blues City Hot Dogs!!

Blogtember Life Lately…

Life lately… well I haven’t really done to much honestly. We are halfway through September and I’ve barely touched my goals for this month.

BUT I do have a little good news, Kensei and I talked about it and we are thinking about getting married next year. If we do it would be a tiny ceremony basically justice of the peace and then when we have enough money later on we would throw our reception.

This means I’ve been looking at wedding dresses. I mentioned a few of my options in my blogtember post on shopping.

My birthday was good, We saw City Of Bones, and were the only people in the theater. We had pizza for lunch and went to Shogun for dinner… that was the only part I wasn’t happy about. I had never been there and was really looking forward to it. but we were seated at a table with an older couple and a mother of 4, 3 of her kids were REALLY well behaved but one threw a literal kicking screaming temper tantrum throughout dinner, so we didn’t get the show, the chef just cooked the food and left, then the lady didn’t leave the poor waitress a tip… that made me mad, and basically made going out for my birthday dinner pointless.

I also came about 30 seconds close to being robbed last night. I work audit 2 nights a week at a hotel, and I usually get to work about 30 min early. I was walking across the parking lot to the lobby last night carrying my school bag, laptop and purse. A car pulled into the lot behind me, and I remember thinking, oh, I left something in the car, but decided to not turn back and get it. As I walked into the lobby a guest walked out, she had maybe taken two steps when a guy jumped out of the car, pulled a gun and stole her purse… I spent most of my night at work extra jumpy because 30 seconds later and that could have been me….

What is new in your life?? I’d love to know!

Essentials Every Girl Should Have In Her Car At All Times

Royal Canadian Cyber Intelligence Service

So I did not go to class today, because well, I was about halfway between my place and my school when my tire went flat, again, for the 5th time in 3 months. Thank goodness for AAA.

But because my car keeps being annoying with the flats I’ve learned what I should have in my car at all times, and I decided to share with you all!

1st and foremost, you should ALWAYS have a spare tire, jack and things needed to change said tire. this is something I still have a problem with, because I’ve yet to get a spare for my car.

2. to go with the 1st item, you should ALWAYS have an emergency car kit in your car, this includes, but is not limited to: Jumper cables, Tire patching kit, screwdriver, Hammer, Poncho/raincoat, flashlight with extra batteries, electrical tape, flares or flashers

3. first aid kit. (yes a fully stocked first aid kit)

now on to the other things.

4. phone charger for car and wall. Every time I have gotten a flat lately it has been when my phone is almost completely dead. I thank goodness I have a car charger BUT a wall charger would also be very handy.

5. sneakers- yes I know this is a strange one, but I broke down the other day in my work clothes, the ones I wore for our company inspection… walking in loose gravel in my pretty heels was NOT fun. also what if you are broken down somewhere with no signal? the sneakers will help you walk to that gas station you skipped a few miles back.

6. pillows, blankets, warm jacket. I can honestly say I used to have these with me all the time, but lately I haven’t and when the night is cold, or a cold day that blanket could help save your life. if you don’t want to carry an entire blanket they make folded emergency blankets, stock a few of them in your first aid kit for emergencies. I have the emergency blankets in 1 per person that can fit in my car, so a total of 5 for my car.

7. extra cash- this is something everyone should keep in their car. because you never know when you will need to pay a toll, feed a meter, need emergency gas, oil etc. I keep about 15 in ones in a tiny wallet that is in my big tool box, no one but me knows its there… and well you guys do too now.

8. Water and food- You should always have at least 5 water bottles in your car. if you are stranded then the water could help you. also if your radiator over heats you have water to cool it. All the professionals recommend carrying MREs in your car too, but I don’t have those. my emergency food is a bag of Halloween candy and a box of Lemon Luna Bars. BUT the Luna bars at least are healthy for you.

9. Pens and Paper.

10. Books, magazines, homework- while waiting that hour or four for AAA you need something to do, playing on your phone is not a good idea, because you need to keep the charge. So Keeping a few books to read, magazines to flip through or homework to work on are a good idea.

What do you consider essentials to have in your car??

Blogtember Saying I Remember!

This is a very famous Italian saying in English means (more or less): The devil builds pots, but not the covers i.e. if you say or do something wrong sooner or later it becomes known!

My Nana used to tell me this, “Il diavolo fa le pentole na non coperchi”  it is roughly translated from Italian into “The Devil makes the pots, but not the covers”

I still use this in my head a lot when I need to think before I speak, it basically means that what you say and do has a way of getting out.

Blogtember

If I could take 3 months off from my life and do anything I want? I would want to pack mine and Kensei’s things and just travel the world taking photographs. I almost had the chance to go to Venice, Florence and Rome this summer for 3 weeks and take pictures, I got accepted into the summer credit program, BUT I couldn’t come up with the 5 k needed.  So where would I go?

Thailand--- Look at that sunset!

(courtesy of Fleurdeforce)

I would love to spend a week or two there and just take pictures of everything.

Of course I want to go to Venice.

So, instead of an overnight train from Innsbruck to rome, we're gonna take a day trip to Venice :o) Rome, Italy. Learning Italian, hopefully ill be able to go here one day :)  Florence. Inspiration. See what we can do for your perfect Florence wedding: www.art2arrange.nl #weddinginflorence #weddinginitaly #weddingplanner #art2arrange #florence #italy

Scotland

The 15th century Dunnottar Castle, Scotland visit www.globalista.co.uk instagram: @theglobalista twitter: @theglobalista

And so many other places!!! I would just LOVE to travel, and go places I haven’t been before!

What would you do with 3 months out of your life?

August Subscription Share!!

So I am signed up for 2 services, Birchbox and Ipsy! I did an unboxing video for Ipsy this month,

Then for Birchbox, I get 2 boxes and this is what I got this month!

For my First Birchbox this month I got

The Juice Beauty Moisturizer, It was okay but not something I would get for myself.

tesoroA Stila liquid lip color in Beso it was such a pretty red and a wonderful size sample!

Wish Deodorant wipes, these were interesting but again not something I would use every day, mainly because of the price, but it isn’t a bad idea to keep a few in your purse in case of an emergency. Wish Exfoliating scrub, I loved this it smells soooo good!

This shampoo smells so good, but I don’t think it would work well for me to use it often enough to buy it.

For my 2nd Birchbox I got the Stila lip color again, as well as the deodorant wipes and the exfoliating wash.

The Evolvh Conditioner smelled good and was a decent sized sample to try out, even though my hair is REALLY long and thick.

The Derma E was my favorite part of the box, it was full sized and I LOVED having the mist to take to class with me and just refresh my face with the Hyaluronic Acid. This I will DEFFINITLY be buying more of!

I also got this AMAZING essie polish in Fair Game!

What did you get in your boxes this month??
