Birchbox and Ipsy!!!

I am posting this a little early this month!! If you haven’t tried Birchbox or Ipsy please feel free to join via my links, I get points on Birchbox and might get something extra from Ipsy.

First my two Birchbox’s I didn’t film it this month mainly because I have been dealing with some issues. but here’s what I got in both my boxes!

Box 1:

I’ve gotten these tea bags before and I really like them, so I was actually happy to get them. I know a lot of people don’t like tea in their boxes but I love love love tea and enjoy trying new ones.

Beauty Protector- Protect and Detangle. I was so excited to get this! I was envying other people’s Birchbox’s last month and so far I really like this! I might even get a full sized one!

Usually I LOVE LOVE LOVE getting polish in my birchbox but this one was kind of a disappointment. Supposedly this polish is going to change colors when you go outside, it is activated by uv rays, either I didn’t get hit with a SINGLE uv ray or mine just didn’t work Sad smile

This was taken after 8 hours in the sun Sad smile but it is a pretty pink color. it is in the shade peony, if you got it in your birchbox and it worked what did you do? How many coats, top coat etc.?

Fabulous but Isaac Mizrahi – was not so fabulous in my opinion… just not a smell I liked.

Then on to something I got in BOTH Birchboxes

Coola Sunscreen-moisturizer. In the cucumber smell. I liked them, not sure how good a moisturizer they were, as I used them with my other moisturizer and serum but I loved the SPF and they smelt good too!

Birchbox 2:

The coola sunscreen of course.

A foil pouch of Miss Jessie’s Jelly soft curls, which I was a little disappointed in because it dried out before I could use it more than once, and the last time I got a Miss Jessie’s product it can in a mini travel sized container and I loved it…

Marvis toothpaste, I’ve gotten this before and it is meh, it’s toothpaste it works but I use crest and it works the same for less money. Toothpaste is not an area where I splurge.

Cargo Water Resistant Blush in Bali- this was my disappointment this month… I was so freaking excited when I saw I would be getting this in my birchbox but the cover came off and the next item gouged and crushed the blush beyond saving during shipping.

Birchbox’s customer service is amazing though, they gave me 100 point credit as soon as I emailed them about the blush which is 10 so basically my box was free.

and finally

Now I am a pen hoarder I love them, and this one writes in pink! But it is something that while I would buy it for myself I don’t want it in a beauty box.

Now for my first ever Ipsy bag!

Yaby Concealer refill in Buff, not bad but not quite my shade it is to yellow/dark for me and not dark enough for contour, plus it came open and it dried out pretty fast.

Ipsy made my day with this, even though I already bought it for myself I sent this one to my little sister for her birthday! A full sized Zoya polish in Jacqueline! (named after me!)

Mirabella LipSheer in Daydream. I thought I wasn’t going to like it but the color is sheer enough to make the purple lipstick look good!

This I am still on the fence about this is a Juice Beauty Lip-gloss in champagne, it smells like lemons, but is super thick and reminds me of the lip smackers lip glosses I had a kid, stick and thick and goopy.

I love Pacifica products and this is a nice lotion, it is supposed to be a self tanner… umm not to much with the tan but it is a nice lotion and a yummy coconut smell!

What did you get in your subscription? Do you get Birchbox or Ipsy? Do you like them?

If I Won The Lottery…

This is actually a question I have debated about a lot, In fact Kensei and I were talking about it just last week when the powerball was at 600 million…. We didn’t win just so you know, but I still buy at least one ticket a week because if you don’t play you can’t win.

First it depends on how much I win what I would do. Let’s see current Jackpot is 50 million.

so I would take that and I divide it in half for taxes because well they will kill you in the taxes, so now I have 25 million and then I split that in half which leaves me with 12.5 million.

I put the first half into a savings account of some kind, several CDs, IRA and/or a 401K.

Then I take 1 million and pay off EVERY person I owe money too, student loans, old debt, everything. If It’s on my credit or I owe them money they will be paid off completely.

Then with whatever is left over from that million I will put it away in a bank account to spend on school.

Then I want to take 2 million and buy some land and completely build a new house from scratch…Kensei and I have discussed this plan in detail, because of his schooling in architecture he will draw up the plans, but my main requirements, a Library, ( a sliding panel in the library) a state of the art kitchen, and an indoor or outdoor swimming pool.

so now I’m down to 9 million, 1 million will go to Kensei’s education so he can finish school, 1 million to be split between friends and family

1 million for new cars, for both Kensei and myself.

and 1 million for each of us to spend on whatever we want!

and 1 million on our wedding, and honeymoon!

the rest goes into savings accounts to be used for bills, etc. later on!

What’s In My Purse???

I love watching What’s in my Purse vlogs and seeing What’s in my Purse blogs, so I decided I would do another one because I just switched out my bag! This was REALLY hard for me, if you have seen my previous What’s In my Purse Posts You can find them Here and Here, You will see I generally go for BIG bags that I can fill up with many different items that I need but don’t really need.

I bought this purse on sale at Target, I found it on the site and will link it (in several colors) but it is not at the killer sale price online, so if you want one go to the store…. I literally paid 6.99 for this bag! Here it is in the Pink, a REALLY pretty Blue, and a neutral brown. They also have it in green purple and several other colors.

Inside the Side Pocket 1 I keep just one thing, A change holder I got on sale at Gordan’s for 2.99

2013-05-14 purse

Then in Side Pocket 2 I keep My light up mirror, a nail polish, either top coat or actual color (this time it is a top coat) because I cannot STAND the feeling of chipped nails, and my keys are clipped along the side of the pocket.  2013-05-14 purse1

Then I have my Perfume Pocket…. Yes I have a WHOLE pocket dedicated to perfume, I have My, My Sent bottle filled with Harvey Prince’s Skinny Chic, (I am in LOVE With Harvey Prince smells, Eau De Flirt and Hello are 2 of my other favorites) BBW Forever Red Perfume, Vicks Vapor Stick (for allergies) and BBW anti-back in Feeling Lucky which smells like Apples. purse 027

Then I have my makeup Pocket, which I guess SHOULD be called my lipstick pocket, this was also very hard for me, in my old purse I actually carried 3 filled makeup bags full of different makeup and 2 Ziploc's of lipsticks/gloss. So cutting down to a few products was painful for me.

I have from left to right, top to bottom:

Maybelline Color Vivid in Shocking Coral, Rimmel London Kate Matte in 104, NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Addis Ababa, Revlon Color Stay Ultimate Suede in 025 Socialite, and L’Oreal Colour Riche Caresse Aqua’s in  188 Coral Tattoo and 184 Rose On and One

Then I have the little Zipper pouch I have my Samsung Glide Cell in the pretty pink case that matches the purse, I have 3 Listerine breath strips packs, my travel floss picks my Rimmel London Match Perfection Concealer in Fair/light that I got 50% off, Rimmel London Scandaleyes in taupe which I like/don’t like and Jordana Fabuliner in Brown as well as my Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange solid perfume.

purse 030

The BIG zippy pocket has a LOT more stuff. There are three little pockets inside, in each of those pockets I have my Poo-pourri, Advil, and my cold sore medicine (get WAY to many of them when I am stressed) my Glass cleaner and repair kit from Sunglass Hut, Allegra, and Dayquil and Dove 48 hour deodorant and Cortisone anti-itch stick. 2013-05-14 purse2

5 Books Every Young Woman Should Read.

Preview to Summer: A Blogger Book Swap - Link Up #2

So I am a little bit late with this link up this week. Finals have been kicking my butt and I’ve got two more weeks of them left!!

The first two are some my favorites and even though they can be considered children's books, They are books that I have continually pulled out over and over again when I am having a bad day or just need something to make me happy.

Because every girl should know that they are a princess. This book shows young women that perseverance and imagination can conquer even the most desperate situations.

Honorable Mention – By the Same Author

Again adventure and finding yourself as well as believing in yourself.

Number Two I mentioned before, But Every girl needs to know that they should have someone willing to tell them As You Wish

Number three is a Jane Austin book, I would like to add Pride And Prejudice in here too.

In Sense and Sensibility there are so many Lessons a young woman should learn, but some are that sometimes it is worth the wait, and that your virtue and sticking to it can be rewarding.

Then I have three books for number 4, they are again by the same author, and if you can get past the old English then the stories are magical, at least in my opinion.

William Shakespeare

And Number Five is Arabian Nights.

Scheherazade knows her own mind and figures out a way to get what she wants while in the same process saving her kingdom and the man she loves.
