To Be ready for the random weather changes to stop, It really doesn’t need to be 79 one day and 32 the next…

To be loving my Photography class!

To be ready to shoot 3 more rolls of film this weekend

To be a little homesick…

To love living with Kensei but miss my family and my own space.

 

It is NOT Okay:

To bring your child to college (not the part I have a problem with) Leave him UNSUPERVISED for god knows how long, and let him randomly trip at least 4 other people including me… I twisted my ankle but grabbed the kids leg (he was about 8 or 9 years old and prob should have been in school himself) and then the mother came up to her child’s howls of “let me go!” when appraised of the situation she responded “Oh my gosh I’m sorry, you don’t look hurt though” and walked off with the kid… WTF? Not even an insincere say your sorry to the kid and now my ankle is the size of a softball and killing me… not okay at all…

Books and Blogger Swap Reveal!!

This is honestly my favorite swap I’ve participated in so far! I LOVE reading books and getting them is even better, plus there is usually a book I’ve never heard of but learn to love!

First I saw this cute card from Margie! She wrote me an adorable note explaining each book and isn’t her handwriting pretty???

The first book we were supposed to send out was a book that we love, Margie sent me Pushing The Limits. She says that it is a YA book with lots of emotions and a boy named Noah. I am taking this one to class tomorrow to read while I wait in-between classes!

My other two books are a book she hasn’t read and one from my wish list, She was amazing in this one she got me The first book in a series I have been wanting to read and because what is the first book with out the second she got me the second book too!

New Classes and Catching Up!

I am so excited that my classes at my new University have started! I know in a month I will be freaking out because why on earth should I be excited about tests and papers and things, and I now have an additional shopping list for each class about 350 each.

But it feels so great to be back in school and moving up with my educational plans! Things have been going well in Memphis so far! I Love my job and while living with Kensei has gotten some getting used to it is nice that I am in the same house as my boyfriend!

The only downside is I still haven't made any friends... oh I am sure I will eventually, that's what everyone keeps saying, but I miss M and Eri so much. I don't have girlfriends to have lunch or sushi nights with and with class and my job it is not like I have a lot of time fore going out to find friends... heck I don't even have a gym I can go to here.

Wow, I just totally pulled that post down in the dumps! Anyways I am sure things will look up in the friend department soon.

Angel Reads: Beautiful Creatures

I knew I was going to read this book. There was not a doubt in my head. I saw the Hobbit with Kensei and his friends a few weeks back (I promise there is a point to this) and before the movie started they had the previews (of course). Several of them were movies I WANT to see, but this one the minute it came on the screen A I knew it was based on a book series, B I knew I needed to Read it and C I knew I would be watching the movie.
Kensei is not as thrilled as I am about it though according to him it is “just another stupid Twilight”
Now onto the book. I read Beautiful Creatures on my Kindle so I don’t have a picture of the actual book to show you. Finished it on January 8th 2013.
I was a little surprised when I read this book. First of all I am very used to young adult novels being told from the heroine’s point of view. Almost ALL of this book is told through the Hero’s eyes, which was very refreshing.
It was the opposite of the usual formula, instead of the mysterious male it is the female who moves to the tiny town and the hero has to decipher and befriend her. There are several stories woven throughout the book, Ethan and his mother, Ethan and Lena and even Ethan (our Ethan’s great great great uncle) and Genevieve Duchannes.
This book has everything I was looking for love, magic, mysteries thrill and suspense and the best thing of all? (I know people are going to be mad at me for this but..” NOT a SINGLE Vampire or Werewolf in sight!! There are good guys who are bad and bad guys who have good in them and you have no clue which ones are which. It is a definite read and I will be in line to see the movie as soon as it comes out!!

1. What is the name of your blog? How long have you been blogging?

My blog is called Confessions Of A College Angel. And my blog will be 4 years old on January 18th!

2. Why do you blog?

I blog because I like to talk, and think and have kept a journal all my life, and sadly my journal entries look like my blog sometimes, where I go a month without saying anything and then apologize for my absence!  There is always something floating around in my brain and I felt the need to blurt it out!

3. What is the first blog you ever followed?

The first blog I ever followed was the Meanest Mom, although I didn’t know what following was so I just bookmarked and came back every day!

4. What is your favorite post you wrote in 2012?

I had a few light items that I enjoyed writing like the posts for Fairy Tale Week and my Book Review, but I honestly have to say that while it wasn’t my FAVORTIE post of 2012, it was the most touching to me, My Dad’s motorcycle accident. It was such a horrible time for me and because of the friends I have made through this blog I was able to be strong and get myself and my family through it. All of the comments I received touched me and everyone really helped me to be able to keep swimming and get what needed to me done, finished.

5. What are your blogging goals for 2013?

I want to blog more, and on a regular schedule. I also want to do at least one book review a month, I read so many good books last year that I should have done reviews on but didn’t.

Angel Reads: Poison Princess

One of my goals this year was to make it through my Goodreads challenge to read books, and this year to review MORE of those books. So I am starting with the first book I finished this year! I finished this book January 2nd 2013! It is by one of my favorite Romance writers Kresley Cole. Poison Princess.

This is the first in the Arcana Chronicles and I really enjoyed it. It is a dystopian novel, which is a little played out for me, BUT Kresley Cole comes at it in a new way. I didn’t enjoy the beginning honestly, it is a little slow getting into but once you get past the “Flash” and into the 4th chapter the book flies by and you won’t want to put it down!
The books tag line is interesting “She could save the world… or destroy it.” and the Characters are very fleshed out. Evie is very upbeat and determined to fix things in every way even after everything that happens has happened to her. I have never read a book with this type of plot before and I am VERY interested to see where it goes in this series.
Now one thing that bothered me a little was that the time changes a lot. Most of the book is basically Evie telling someone WHAT happened in the past few months, so you will start past tense and then all the sudden you are in Evie’s memory and present tense. It can be a little jarring and actually pull you out of the story sometimes.

All in all I’d give this book 3.5 out of 5 stars and I am really looking forward to the next in the series.

Kensei and I were FINALLY in the same place at midnight on New Years Eve so I got my first Midnight kiss!

I am officially enrolled and about to start my first semester at Memphis University!

I have stopped biting my nails!! If you want a post on how I did that please let me know! Stopping biting my nails was a trial but it worked!

1. Do you plan to change any of your eating habits in the new year?

I am going to try to cut back on soda. I was doing really well in 2012 but then I moved to Memphis and went from one- two cokes a week to 2-3 a day.

2. Any workout tips to get us back in shape after the Holidays?

I wish I had some. My main tip is to go to the gym/park, Y where ever you go to work out and KEEP going! That is a problem I have I’ll go 3-4 times a week for 2 weeks then I’ll miss a day and stop going for a month or three and that really isn’t helping any!

3. Favorite thing you did over the Holidays?

Spending time with Kensei, although I REALLY missed my family, and having a tree and a bunch of people around.

4. What is something you hope that you accomplish in 2013 that you did not in 2012?

Set a budget and same some money, and getting my passport!

5. Name 3 things happening this year you are excited about and why:

Starting my new school, taking more pictures with my NEW Camera, and spending time with Kensei!
